Island Timing Regional Calendar Nassau and Suffolk Counties
I never noticed until now that the runners in the logo for the East End Road & Trail Runners Club are running west. I moved out to the east end years ago and founded the club because there was none. I started timing my own races and started a newsletter to help publicize running and races on the east end. Thirteen years have gone by and I’m finding I’m timing more and more races west of Riverhead. A couple of years ago I made an attempt to start a Long Island running publication, but it just wasn’t practical. With one third of my races in Nassau and western Suffolk I may reconsider.
This attempt is a much more modest one. This newsletter is an extension of the East End Runner, which in one form or another, I have published erratically and under different names, for thirteen years. The purpose of this expansion is to help promote the races I have worked with over the years, both east and west. I look forward to starting new races and helping current and new race directors with their events.

East End Road & Trail Runners Club
The Complete 2008 East End Race Calendar
Annual Meeting: East End Road & Trail Runners Club Southampton RSVP to join the committee
Running in the off season has always been a challenge. For runners, it’s dealing with the weather. For a race director it’s dealing with the low turnouts... and the weather. Managing four races last year in five off season months on the east end is not something I would ever recommend to anyone. Physically and financially it was a burden. Yet I plan to do it again this coming year, but bigger and better. This year with the help of OMAC, I’m determined to make it work. And we are! Join Us!
